Kelly Baxendale - Counsellor in Training

About me
Kia ora, I’m a counselling student completing a Bachelor in Applied Counselling with Manukau Institute of Technology. I’ve a passion to help people work through their trauma somatically, in a holistic way. Connecting with clients in a genuine way, creating a safe and non-judgemental space.
I’ve had my own healing journey through psychotherapy working on addiction, childhood trauma, depression and anxiety, which has led me onto a path to help create that for others. I believe that if you do the work in therapy, you can recover from trauma and be able to sustain a healthy life.
Being an avid snowboarder, I volunteer for the Adaptive Winter Sports Programme at Cardrona and support neurodiverse children on the slopes, making learning as fun as possible, when living with learning difficulties. I also volunteer for the Salvation Army as a community student counsellor.
Based in Wānaka, available online and in person.
